When my mom asked me to create some name ornaments for our family to hang on her tree this year, I tossed around several ideas. I wasn’t too excited about anything I’d thought up, so I took to Pinterest and found this cute scrabble ornament! I decided to try it out and it ended up being a quick, fun project for me and my kiddos to complete.
I picked up these scrabble pieces and ribbon on amazon and used some burlap paper for the backing. Here is the complete list of what I used to finish this project:
1. Burlap paper or backing fabric/paper of choice
2. Scrabble pieces
3. Ribbon of choice
4. Hot glue gun
5. Scissors
6. Prep surface – I used a cutting board to protect our countertops from the hot glue
The boys got to help find the letters for their names. We laid them out on the burlap paper and cut around them, roughly a quarter inch on each side. I handled the glue to avoid a burn accident with my boys ?. But they felt included pushing the pieces into place.
The last step was to add the ribbon. Be creative and do it however you please! I made a loop and added a bow to each to dress them up. We loved how they turned out so much we plan to make another set for our own tree!
